Pet Safety & Service Policy
Every pet is unique—with their own history, comfort levels, and tolerance for nail care. At Paw & Claw Co., we prioritize patience and communication, ensuring that each nail trim is tailored to the individual needs of your companion. We believe that a safe, stress-free, and comfortable experience must always come before completing a service.

Patience & Care
Pets are handled with extreme patience. If your pet becomes stressed, fearful, or unsafe, the service may be paused or stopped entirely.
Pet Safety Comes First
We utilize a gentle, low-stress approach that prioritizes your pet's emotional well-being above all else. Every appointment begins with an assessment of your pet's behavior and comfort level to ensure a positive experience.
Safety Over Speed
Completing fewer nails safely is always preferable to forcing a pet through a service. Not every pet will tolerate a full trim in one visit.
Building Trust
Our ultimate goal is to build positive experiences over time, helping your pet become more comfortable with nail care through kindness.
Honest Pet Information
Pet parents are expected to provide accurate and complete information about their pet before the appointment to ensure we can provide the safest care possible.
• Previous difficult nail-trimming experiences
• Fear or anxiety related to handling
• Aggressive or reactive behavior
• Previous bites or attempts to bite
• Known sensitivities or limb handling concerns
• Recent injuries affecting the paws or legs
• Any other information affecting safe handling
Withholding important information may affect whether the service can safely be performed.
When a Service May Be Stopped or Declined
Paw & Claw Co. reserves the right to stop or decline a nail-trimming service when continuing would create an unreasonable safety risk to the pet or person.
• Severe fear or panic
• Repeated attempts to bite
• Dangerous levels of struggling
• Signs of significant pain
• Injury or condition making nail trimming unsafe
• A pet becoming too distressed to continue safely
Stopping a service is not a punishment or failure, but a decision made to protect the pet and everyone involved.
Health & Medical Concerns
Paw & Claw Co. provides specialized nail-trimming services and is not a veterinary medical provider. We do not diagnose, treat, or provide medical care. If a pet presents with an injured paw, bleeding, infection, significant nail damage, severe pain, or any medical condition affecting the paws or nails, owners may be advised to consult their veterinarian for clinical care before a appointment can proceed.
Nail Bleeding
Accidentally nicking the quick can occasionally occur during nail trimming, particularly when nails are very long, dark, or difficult to assess. While every reasonable care will be taken to minimize this risk, please be assured that appropriate first-aid measures will be used if minor bleeding occurs. We prioritize your pet's comfort and safety above all else, maintaining a calm environment throughout the process.
Pet & Owner Responsibility
- Providing accurate and complete information about the pet's history.
- Informing us of any relevant behavioral or medical concerns before the visit.
- Following all pre-appointment instructions provided during booking.
- Ensuring the pet is safely contained and ready for the appointment.
- Communicating any known sensitivities to handling or physical contact.
Service Expectations
Paw & Claw Co. focuses specifically on nail care and does not provide full grooming services. A nail-trimming appointment may vary in length depending on the pet's behavior, comfort level, nail condition, and individual needs. We do not promise that every pet will have every nail completed during every appointment, as we prioritize safety and comfort above all else.
Consent
Clients will be asked to complete a Pet Care & Nail Trim Consent Form before receiving services. This form confirms that the pet parent understands the nature of the service, has provided accurate information about their pet, understands that safety takes priority over completing the service, and gives permission for Paw & Claw Co. to perform nail-trimming services within the scope described.
Your pet's comfort matters.
We believe nail care should be approached with patience, kindness, and respect for each individual pet. Thank you for trusting us with their care.
