Terms & Conditions
Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 11, 2026
Welcome to Paw & Claw Co. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Paw & Claw Co. website and your use of our pet nail-trimming services.
By submitting an appointment request, booking an appointment, completing a consent form, or using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Paw & Claw Co.
Paw & Claw Co. provides professional pet nail-trimming services by appointment.
Our services are focused specifically on nail care and do not constitute veterinary medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for veterinary services.
Our goal is to provide each pet with a calm, patient, and respectful nail-trimming experience while prioritizing their safety and comfort.
2. Appointment Requests
Paw & Claw Co. operates by appointment only.
Submitting an appointment request through our website does not guarantee an appointment or the requested date and time.
An appointment is considered confirmed only after Paw & Claw Co. has contacted you and confirmed the appointment details.
We may contact you by phone, text message, or email regarding your appointment request.
Please provide accurate and current contact information so that we can communicate with you.
3. Client Responsibilities
Pet parents are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about their pet.
Before an appointment, please inform Paw & Claw Co. of any information that may affect the safety or comfort of your pet, including:
-
Previous difficult nail-trimming experiences
-
Fear, anxiety, or significant stress related to handling
-
Aggressive or reactive behavior
-
Previous bites or attempts to bite
-
Known sensitivities
-
Recent injuries
-
Pain or discomfort
-
Conditions affecting the paws, legs, or nails
-
Any other behavior, health, or handling concerns that may be relevant to the appointment
Providing complete and honest information allows us to better prepare for your pet and determine whether the requested service can be performed safely.
4. Pet Safety and Handling
Every pet is different. Some pets may tolerate nail trimming easily, while others may be nervous, fearful, or resistant.
Paw & Claw Co. uses a patient and gentle approach and will make reasonable efforts to minimize stress during the appointment.
However, pet safety and comfort always take priority over completing a nail trim.
Paw & Claw Co. may pause, modify, or stop a service if continuing would create an unreasonable safety risk or cause significant distress to the pet.
This may include situations involving:
-
Severe fear or panic
-
Repeated attempts to bite or seriously injure a person
-
Dangerous levels of struggling
-
Signs of significant pain
-
An injury or condition that makes nail trimming unsafe
-
A pet becoming too distressed to continue
Stopping a service does not mean that a pet has failed. Sometimes the safest and most appropriate choice is to stop and try again another time or seek guidance from a veterinarian or qualified professional.
5. Service Limitations
Paw & Claw Co. does not guarantee that every nail will be trimmed during every appointment.
The amount of nail care that can safely be completed may depend on:
-
The pet's behavior
-
The pet's comfort level
-
Nail length and condition
-
Nail color and visibility of the quick
-
Previous nail-trimming experiences
-
The amount of time the pet can comfortably tolerate handling
We will make reasonable efforts to provide the requested service while prioritizing safety and the pet's individual needs.
6. Health and Medical Conditions
Paw & Claw Co. is not a veterinary medical provider and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
If a pet appears to be experiencing significant pain, has an injury, infection, severe nail damage, or another condition that may make nail trimming unsafe, we may recommend that the pet parent consult their veterinarian before proceeding.
Paw & Claw Co. may decline or stop a service when a medical or health-related concern makes nail trimming inappropriate or unsafe.
7. Nail-Trimming Risks
Although reasonable care is taken during every appointment, nail trimming carries inherent risks.
Depending on the pet and the condition of the nails, there is a possibility of accidentally cutting the quick, which may result in minor bleeding.
This risk can be greater when nails are very long, dark, overgrown, or difficult to assess.
By requesting or receiving services from Paw & Claw Co., you acknowledge that minor risks can occur even when reasonable care is taken.
8. Pet Care & Nail Trim Consent Form
Before receiving services, clients may be required to complete a Pet Care & Nail Trim Consent Form.
The consent form provides Paw & Claw Co. with important information about the pet and confirms that the pet parent understands the nature and limitations of the service.
The information provided on the consent form must be accurate and complete to the best of the pet parent's knowledge.
Completion of the consent form does not prevent Paw & Claw Co. from stopping or declining a service when doing so is necessary for safety.
9. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.
Cancellation Policy: [INSERT YOUR CANCELLATION NOTICE/POLICY HERE]
Appointments canceled with insufficient notice or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation or no-show fee if such a fee has been communicated to the client before the appointment.
Any applicable cancellation fees will be handled according to the cancellation policy in effect at the time of booking.
10. Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
Arriving late may reduce the amount of time available for the service and may affect whether the appointment can be completed.
If a late arrival makes it unsafe or impractical to complete the service, Paw & Claw Co. may need to reschedule the appointment.
Any applicable fees related to late arrivals or rescheduling will be communicated in accordance with our current cancellation policy.
11. Payment
Payment is due according to the payment terms communicated at the time of booking or before the service is provided.
Paw & Claw Co. may accept the payment methods made available to clients at the time of service.
Prices and available services may change from time to time. Any applicable price will be communicated before or at the time the service is booked.
12. Service Refusal
Paw & Claw Co. reserves the right to decline or discontinue a service when necessary to protect the safety or well-being of the pet, the pet parent, or the person providing the service.
We may also decline a service when a pet's needs fall outside the type of nail-trimming service we are equipped to safely provide.
Whenever reasonably possible, we will communicate the reason for stopping or declining a service and discuss appropriate next steps.
13. Pet Parent Responsibility
The pet parent or authorized caretaker remains responsible for their pet before, during, and after the appointment.
By requesting services, you confirm that you are the pet's owner or are authorized by the owner to request services and make decisions regarding the pet.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your pet and informing Paw & Claw Co. of relevant behavioral, health, or handling concerns.
14. Website Use
The Paw & Claw Co. website is provided for general informational and business purposes.

16. Limitation of Liability
Paw & Claw Co. takes reasonable care to provide services in a safe and professional manner.
However, pet handling and nail trimming involve inherent risks, and individual pets may react unpredictably to handling or nail care.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Paw & Claw Co. is not responsible for circumstances outside of its reasonable control or for risks inherent to the service that occur despite reasonable care being taken.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. Changes to These Terms
Paw & Claw Co. may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time as our business, services, policies, or legal requirements change.
When changes are made, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
18. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
